Age Of Enlightenment

About the age of six or seven Stephen King decided to proofread and make sidenotes to various science fiction magazines that entranced him. Eventually he wrote his own short story at the same time, about four magic animals who helped little kids in distress. King showed his mother his work, about four pages long, in pencil. King successfully earned money for the story, customers being his family. The first buck he ever made from writing was because of this short tale.
Stephen King wrote out of fascination, the amusement and proudness in his mother's face was therefore a plus. King ended up writing not only for himself, but for various people that cared for him as he cared for them. Later in his teen-age years, King wrote for his brother, his school newspaper, and a sports section of a local newspaper. Pow! Super! That is a lot of work, but that is also what King remembered writing.
I, on the other hand, thought I wanted to pursue a career in writing at the age of about 10, not only was and still might be serious about it, I was not as serious because of doubts, (a huge problem with me, I doubt everything.) I do remember pursuing to write a story of my near death experience of being hit by a truck, and another story of my general life story. It took only a week for me to give up.

  1. it took King until he was a grown adult to become a great writer so don't you think the same could happen with you?

  2. I don't think it is a good thing to doubt everything because it will soon turn into a habit and how did you almost get hit by a truck
